About San Guiseppe Wines and Vintwood International LTD

With over 45 years at the forefront of the Italian wine industry, Frank Gentile, Master Blender and co-founder of Vintwood International LTD. and San Guiseppe Wines has played an influential role in how Americans drink Italian wine.

Vintwood International Ltd. was founded in 1989 by Robert Musorofiti and Frank Gentile. Previously, both men held executive positions with a major U.S. Italian wine importer.  Combined, they brought almost forty five years of experience to their new venture.
With Bob as the “outside man” and Frank as the “inside man”, Vintwood was a typical import business representing brands of French, Italian, Chilean and Spanish wines.
Then, after the loss of their largest selling brand to a larger importer, they decided to invent a new type of business and create their own brands of premium wines exclusively from Italy. Hence San Giuseppe, Pe’re Alessandro and Palazzetti were born.

Today we are a “cross over” of brand owner and importer. This hybrid more efficiently brings good tasting premium Italian wines to consumers in twenty-six states and four foreign countries and counting.

About Frank Gentile

Each autumn, Mr. Gentile travels to Italy to hand select wines for San Giuseppe’s portfolio. Choosing from premium lots directly from the growers’ vineyard estates, he tastes the raw wine right out of the barrels. With long established relationships with the foremost grape producers in Italy, Mr. Gentile secures the finest fruit to create San Giuseppe’s range of Premium Italian Wines. When Mr. Gentile introduced San Giuseppe Wines in 1993, he was not only carrying on the art of winemaking, he was carrying on a family tradition. A first generation Italian, his parents immigrated to New York from the Campania and Puglia regions of Italy. It was there, in New York’s Italian Harlem that Mr. Gentile had his first real taste of the wine business where his family bottled and distributed wine. He went on to further explore his Italian roots gaining experience in all facets of winemaking. Mr. Gentile creates San Giuseppe wines to pair well with food. The blends are developed to compliment a variety of cuisines, particularly classic Italian recipes featuring simple and basic ingredients.

Mr. Gentile has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, Fortune Magazine and more. Providing insight to the new and established oenophile, he shares his expertise on both the intricacies and the simplicities of selecting and enjoying Italian wine. With the wine world evolving rapidly, Mr. Gentile discusses trends in the wine industry, debunks myths about wine and offers perspective on the growing sophistication of American wine drinkers.

Mr. Gentile began his career in the wine industry in 1963. He rose through the ranks at Banfi Vintners to be named Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Mr. Gentile orchestrated the strategic sales and marketing initiatives instrumental in catapulting the company to America’s largest wine importer. Under Mr. Gentile’s helm, Banfi Vintners was ultimately credited for pioneering a new era of Brunello and bringing the wine world’s attention to Montalcino. With this experience combined with his relationships with Italy’s foremost grape producers and his family Italian winemaking roots, San Giuseppe Wine has become a leading brand of Italian wine. Today, San Giuseppe offers a full range of Italian wines from Pinot Grigio to Amarone.

This unique role as blender, bottler and importer results in premium quality wines that always beat the competition.
